The Next Step
Mental Toughness

phillipjwhite:

This blog was written by my son, Phillip White.  The book “Training Camp” was written by Jon Gordon and is available on Amazon.com.

This weeks blog was easy on me from a research standpoint, but will be a much harder task for us wisdom seekers. Last week I read the book “Training Camp: What The Best Do Better Than Everyone Else”. Suggested by mother and real estate consultant for life Ronda White. At first I thought it was just another self-help book, but it became much more than that. Today I would like to share an exert from that book which list 20 ways to get mentally tough, but I would like to change that title to “20 Ways To REMAIN Mentally Tough”:

1. When you face a setback, think of it as a defining moment that will lead to a future accomplishment.

2. When you encounter adversity, remember, the best don’t just face adversity; they embrace it, knowing it’s not a dead end but a detour to something greater and better.

3. When you face negative people, know that the key to life is to stay positive in the face of negativity, not in the absence of it. After all, everyone will have to overcome negativity to define themselves and create their success.

4. When you face the naysayer’s, remember the people who believed in you and spoke positive words to you.

5. When you face critics, remember to tune them out and focus only on being the best you can be.

6. When you wake up in the morning, take a morning walk of gratitude and prayer. It will create a fertile mind ready for success.

7. When you fear, trust. Let your faith be greater than your doubt.

8. When you fail, find the lesson in it, and then recall a time when you have succeeded.

9. When you head into battle, visualize success.

10. When you are thinking about the past or worrying about the future, instead focus your energy on the present moment. The now is where your power is the greatest.

11. When you want to complain, instead identify a solution.

12. When your own self-doubt crowds your mind, weed it and replace it with positive thoughts and positive self-talk.

13. When you feel distracted, focus on your breathing, observe your surroundings, clear your mind, and get into The Zone. The Zone is not a random event. It can be created.

14. When you feel all is impossible, know that with God all things are possible.

15. When you feel alone, think of all the people who have helped you along the way and who love and support you now.

16. When you feel lost, pray for guidance.

17. When you are tired and drained, remember to never, never, never give up. Finish strong in everything you do.

18. When you feel like you can’t do it, know that you can do all things through Him who gives you strength.

19. When you feel like your situation is beyond your control, pray and surrender. Focus on what you can control and let go of what you can’t.

20. When you’re in a high-pressure situation and the game is on the line, and everyone is watching you, remember to smile, have fun, and enjoy it. Life is short; you only live once. You have nothing to lose. Seize the moment.

I would like to thank you for taking the time out to read my blog and I will update it whenever I feel the Lord has inspired me to do so.  As for you wisdom seekers, remain mentally tough, I KNOW I HAVE! GOD BLESS!!!

Acting On Your Goals

I just finished writing my goals for 2010 and they look great.  The page is perfectly formatted and the seven areas I wanted to cover are neatly aligned.  The details are so clear I can actually see myself in a grand state of reflection on December 31, 2010 as I cross off the last item completed on my list.  If I were giving it a grade I would give it an A+.

So  now what?  What do I need to do to make sure they don’t just remain simply words written on a sheet of paper?  What steps do I take to make them self fulfilling prophecies that will produce the pleasure and enjoyment that was intended on the day I wrote them?  Below is how I plan to give life to my goals and I invite you to do the same.

1.        Pray over your goals.  I will thank God that just as easily as the ink flowed from the pen that wrote the goals, the goals will begin to manifest in my life.

2.       Read your goals aloud each day.  As I read them each day I will remind myself of how I will feel on January 1, 2011 when all the goals have been completed and I how much i enjoyed all the accomplishments that were set forth for me on the list of goals.

3.       Share them with someone else.  Sharing my goals with someone who believes in me can provide me with an additional level of support.  This support person could be a good friend or business coach or mentor.

4.       Act on your goals.  Each day I will make sure that all of my actions are taken with my goals in mind.  An example of this for me would be gathering information about the family vacation I intend to take or enrolling in classes that will prepare me to take the broker’s exam.  (I’m a real estate consultant in my husband’s company.)

5.       Measure your goals.  Goals should be measurable, even the intangible ones.  One of my goals is to create a feeling of love, security and fun in my home, an intangible goal.  I intend to  measure this by the positive comments and smiles on the faces of those I entertain.  Another goal is to close 24 real estate transactions, a tangible goal and tracking is factual.

6.       Believe in your goals.  If I don’t believe I can achieve them, I probably won’t.   I believe!

If you haven’t established your goals go ahead and get started.  Make 2010 your best year ever.

Taking the next step with you,

Ronda

Take The Next Step

Everyone has to start somewhere and at sometime.  You know, take the next step. This is the place I will start (again) and now is the time for my next step.  For so long I have wanted to get back to writing.  When I was much younger I would write stories about my family and the funny things we did.  My teachers were amazed at my ability to write as they chuckled at the stories that I would tell about my siblings (even though somewhat stretched for the entertainment factor).

As I got older and my life became more serious I started journaling.  I would write letters to God reminding him that I was here and really needed him, as if he didn’t already know that.  Then one day prayers started getting answered, life got busy, I couldn’t say no to anyone or anything and the writing stopped. But, the desire to write never left.  Fastfoward to today.

Thanks to the encouragement of my wonderful husband I am starting (again).  I have decided to blog so that I can share my thoughts and ideas on living the good life with anyone who chooses to read it.  I’m calling it ”Take The Next Step”, inspired by a message I heard preached by Gloria Copeland, co-founder of Kenneth Copeland Ministries.

What’s so important about taking the next step?  Because for most of us that is all we need to do to get what we need and want out of life.  Taking the next step could be the next big idea that makes you millions, the next trip you take or something as simple as the next hug you give that brightens up someones day.

So many times we let fear hold us back but I say no longer will fear dictate my life and pray you won’t let it dictate yours.  Today we begin taking the next step.

I hope you’ll continue to read and enjoy this blog.  If you like send me an email (Rondonthego@gmail.com) and then tell everyone you know about the blog.  If you don’t like it, just stop reading.  Whatever you decide, just take the next step and make it a big one.

Here’s to big stepping!
